Music Industry Research
As part of Newhouse’s undergraduate research program, I conducted an independent project on social justice and media literacy, focusing on racial bias in the music industry. My research, “The Urban Dilemma: A Look at Genre Biases in the Music Industry,” examined how Black musicians are often boxed into certain genres and how those assumptions shape audience perception, industry treatment, and overall career trajectories. It was a deep dive into the way race and marketing intersect—and how those biases quietly influence who gets visibility and who doesn’t.
Finn Partners Internship
As a Public Relations Intern at Finn Partners, I was tasked to write a bylined article for a nonprofit CEO targeted at journalists, conducting research on the organization's mission and positioning. Additionally, I developed strategic social media recommendations, analyzing their current digital presence and proposing tactics to enhance their social media planning and audience engagement.
